A stolen police vehicle crashed into an abandoned home in Monessen, Westmoreland County, according to Monessen’s mayor.
Mayor Matt Shorraw tells Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 the incident began early Monday morning when police were pursuing a vehicle that was going to wrong way down Donner Avenue. The suspect vehicle was also missing a tire.
Mayor Shorraw said the driver of the suspect vehicle eventually ran off and a female passenger got out and somehow got into a police patrol vehicle.
That woman then allegedly stole the police patrol vehicle and crashed it into an abandoned home.
No injuries were reported.
