State police in Bedford say three people have been arrested for stealing multiple vehicles, including a state police cruiser.
Troopers say on Monday, August 31, state police attempted to stop a vehicle, traveling along the Turnpike, for traffic violations, but that the vehicle fled.
The report states that the vehicle was eventually disabled and that its three occupants fled into a wooded area.
Troopers say one of the individuals was immediately taken into custody, but that one of the other fleeing individuals stole a state police cruiser and again fled the scene.
The stolen cruiser was eventually disabled as well, and the remaining two suspects were taken into custody.
Police later learned that the initial vehicle that the trio was traveling in was reported stolen out of New Jersey.
Authorities say 19-year-old Dayvon Perez, 18-year-old Thomas Rivera and a 17-year-old juvenile, all from New Jersey, face charges.
Police say Perez has been charged with theft, receiving stolen property, fleeing police, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, drug offenses and traffic offenses.
Rivera, police say, has been charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and drug offenses.
Both are being held at Bedford County Prison, court dockets show, and charges are pending against the juvenile suspect.
