7/1/23 Pasco, WA – Woman Jumps In Pasco Police Car – Unable To Steal It – She Was Trying To Shift The Steering Wheel Adjuster – Arrested

The Pasco Police Department says what started as a routine stop near downtown this week, quickly became a whole other ordeal.

Pasco Police say they were patrolling Peanuts Park after closing time when they encountered a female on the property.

When officers told the woman the park was closed, they say she ran off towards a Pasco Police car parked nearby.

We’re told the woman got inside the vehicle and tried to operate it. Pasco police say luckily instead of putting it into gear, she adjusted the height of the steering wheel.

Pasco police say they were able to then remove the woman from the vehicle and booked her into Franklin County Corrections on a Felony Charge of Attempted Auto Theft.
