A man was arrested in Tukwila after running from police and attempting to steal a police car, according to the Tukwila Police Department.

Around 7 p.m. on March 8, a Tukwila police officer stopped to check on a motorist who was having car trouble at Klickitat Drive and Southcenter Parkway.

The man in the car told the officer that one of the wheels had come off.

The officer checked the man’s identification and discovered he had an active felony warrant for robbery.

The man then ran from the scene.

According to police, he climbed over a concrete overpass barrier and fell onto Southcenter Parkway below, where he continued to run southbound.

The man ran into an awaiting patrol car at Strander Boulevard and Southcenter Parkway, where he attempted to steal it.

An officer quickly took him into custody.

The man claimed to be injured from the fall off the overpass, and he was transported to a hospital for medical evaluation.
