Officials say a teen they were interviewing escaped, and he took a cop car with him.
The incident started when Schodack Police received a call about a possible suspect trying to sell back a stolen cell phone. Officers responded to the location and brought back a 15-year-old boy to the station around noon on Tuesday.
While interviewing the boy, authorities say he left out the back door, got into a running patrol car and took off.
Officials were able to locate the car in North Greenbush, just two blocks from the suspect’s home. He was arrested and will face charges of felony auto theft and criminal mischief to a vehicle.
