A Preston man was ejected from Mohegan Sun casino on Sunday night, then stole a Mohegan Tribal Security SUV and smashed it into the back of a car, sending himself and three people to the hospital, police said.
Dillon T. Herman, 25, of 15 Lake of Isles Road, was charged with first-degree larceny, speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive at a reasonable distance.
The crash happened about 9:14 p.m. on a road running along a parking lot outside the Winter Garage, police said.
The three injured people in the other car were taken to The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, where they were treated and released. Herman also was treated and released, then taken to the state police barracks in Montville for criminal processing.
Dillon is due Jan. 13 in Norwich Superior Court. He also faces charges from April that he pistol-whipped and fired a gun at a man over a disagreement over the alleged victim’s request for marijuana. His latest court date for that incident will be Monday.
