A man was arrested Thursday for shooting at two police officers and stealing a police car, according to reports.

Police say Dennis Morgan, 27, broke into a woman’s house in McComb, Miss. and forced her into her SUV. Police said the woman escaped when Morgan crashed the vehicle.

Morgan drove the SUV to Gloster, Miss. where he ran out of gas.

Police say he carjacked Gloster Police Chief Dandridge Brooks, crashed the patrol car and fired at officers. No one was injured.

Police said Morgan stole another car and led officers on a chase into Louisiana, where he was captured.

Morgan is in custody in Amite County and faces two counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
