Police in York are searching for a teenager who stole a police cruiser while officers were responding to a call Wednesday morning.

Around 10 a.m., officials say the teen took the car that was parked outside an apartment complex.

Officers found the stolen vehicle on Highway 17 near York. The suspect fled on foot and officers began searching a wooded area off the highway.

York police told Newscenter 11 they can’t comment at this time on the case or the specific location for the search.
