A stolen Alexandria police cruiser was found Friday in Prince George’s County, but it was unclear whether a police shotgun that was in the car had also been recovered.
Alexandria police reported that the 2006 Ford Crown Victoria, cruiser #2168, was found at about 5 p.m. Friday after it was taken from its parking spot overnight in the 2700 block of Duke Street. The car had been locked when it was stolen, and inside was a Remington 870 shotgun and laptop.
Police said an inventory of police property had not been completed as of the weekend.
The cruiser was towed back to the Alexandria Police Headquarters for further investigation.
