12/1/23 Memphis, TN – Police Car Stolen During Foot Chase – Shotgun Went Missing – Both Recovered But No One Has Been Arrested

A Memphis Police vehicle was stolen during a foot chase Friday night, the department said.

The cop car was recovered but no one has been arrested.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), an officer was chasing someone when his marked patrol car was stolen on the 2800 block of Kirby Road in the Kirby Trace neighborhood.

A shotgun was missing from the MPD vehicle when it was found later on the 5000 block of Judy Lynn Avenue, which is about 5 miles from where it was stolen, police said.

Police said no one was in custody after the foot chase and did not release further details.
