A man is in custody after he allegedly steals and wrecks a Coweta Police car.
Wagoner County Sheriff Bob Colbert said it happened early Thursday morning in Coweta.
The incident began as Coweta officers tried to arrest Daniel Galindo in town on 141st St near Highway 51.
Police were taking him into custody for drug complaints and traffic violations.
The Coweta American reports that Galindo was handcuffed and put in the back of a police cruiser.
While officers were assisting the K-9 unit, Galindo got his cuffed hands out from behind his back and unhooked the seatbelt.
He got into the front seat and the chase was on from there.
The pursuit continued down Highway 51, through Wagoner and ended when Galindo crashed the cruiser near Toppers.
He was arrested there and taken to the Wagoner County Jail.
No one else was injured.
