A Covington County Woman is behind bars, accused of stealing a deputy’s patrol car.
Deputies say Rachel Janet Hawkins was arrested Friday night on a domestic violence charge.
They say when she was handcuffed and put in the back of the car, she managed to get through a small opening in the cage to get to the front and drive off for about 50 feet.
She was later arrested after deputies say she ran into the woods.
Hawkins now faces a list of charges and is being held on $33,000 bond.
