East Providence police said a robbery suspect is responsible for a crash involving four of their cruisers.
Officers were initially called to the Domino’s Pizza on Pawtucket Avenue just before 11 Saturday night for a reported armed robbery. The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, fled the store on foot.
Police were on the scene quickly and began searching for the man; a foot chase led to nearby Charles Street, where the suspect got into the car of one of the officers who was chasing him.
The suspect proceeded to hit two marked police cruisers and an unmarked police car before he was apprehended.
The suspect is identified as 25-year-old Justin Thomas, whose address hasn’t been determined yet.
He is facing multiple felony charges, including first degree robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a motor vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence, and resisting arrest.
