A 27-year-old man is facing charges after a police vehicle was stolen in north Edmonton.
Police say they responded to a call from a female motorist who reported she’d been approached and threatened by a man on foot.
A police dog found the suspect, but the man was able to get away and fled in a police service vehicle.
Some time later, the vehicle tried to make a left-hand turn and struck a tree on the corner of the intersection.
The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Ian Trevor Ball is charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, assaulting a peace officer, theft of motor vehicle, flight from a peace officer, dangerous driving and resisting a peace officer.
