A man is facing a misdemeanor charge for allegedly trying to steal a police car.Prosecutors say that on Sunday, a Missoula Police officer responded to a call at the Oxford Bar and left his patrol car parked on Higgins Avenue.

The officier was coming back to his car when he saw Brandon Gentz Bird looking into the window and pulling the door handle.

Bird was intoxicated and told the officer he was trying to get into the car to take it for a drive.
