State Police say a wanted Penn Yan man was captured near Avoca after a two-day search.

Investigators say 19-year-old Tyler Davis was a suspect in a stolen vehicle case from the Macedon Police Department and the larceny of a .22 caliber handgun from Penn Yan.

Troopers say on Tuesday, October 2, they received a report of a suspicious vehicle and person near the Avoca Central School. When troopers arrived, they located the unoccupied stolen vehicle and saw a man run into the woods. After an extensive search, Davis was taken into custody.He is charged with criminal possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of marijuana. Davis was turned over to the Macedon Police Department.
