A person accused of stealing a Geary County deputy’s patrol car and leading officers on a chase is behind bars  Sunday night.

Sheriff Tony Wolf says he’s still putting the pieces together. Earlier tonight a female deputy stopped to help the driver of a disabled car in Junction City. Wolfe says as she was helping the person or people inside, she realized that there was a medical emergency. The deputy called for an ambulance.

As she was dealing with the situation, someone, it’s not clear who jumped behind the wheel of her patrol vehicle and took off. The deputy alerted fellow officers via portable radio, and the Sheriff says within minutes they had deployed stop sticks. At least one tire blew on the car, causing it to come to a stop. The suspect was arrested.
