09/14/12 Elkins, WV – Traffic Stop – Drugs Found – Suspect Jumps Into West Virginia State Police Car – Suspect Bites Trooper – Damages State Police Car

Stalnaker said Wilson called for back-up and placed one of the occupants of the car, Archie Arbogast, in handcuffs for safety reasons; another occupant, David Doyle, ran from the car and possibly tried to steal one the trooper’s cruisers.”He (Doyle) took off running and jumped into the front of a cruiser,” Stalnaker said. “The troopers wrestled him out of the car.”

During the altercation, Wilson was bitten in the forearm by Doyle, and the suspect also caused damage to the cruiser, Stalnaker said.

Stalnaker said that while the troopers were wrestling with Doyle, Arbogast slipped his handcuffs to the front of his body and ran from the scene.

Stalnaker said warrants have been issued for Arbogast’s arrest.

Arbogast, 36, is originally from Dunmore in Pocahontas County.

Doyle, 39, is being charged with obstruction, two counts of battery on an officer, destruction of property, possession of a controlled substance, fleeing and conspiracy. He is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $150,000 bond.
