SAPULPA, Okla. – Sapulpa police arrested a man who they say led them on two chases Monday night, including a chase in a stolen police car.
Officers say they were dispatched to a stolen pickup truck sighting in a Walmart parking lot. When they got there, officers saw the truck driving away. They tried pulling the driver over, but he didn’t stop for officers.
Officers say they arrested him and put him in a patrol car. As an officer went to talk to his supervisor, police say the suspect slipped the handcuffs under his legs, hopped into the driver’s seat and drove off.
The suspect drove about a half-mile into a neighborhood, crashed the car into some brush and hid in the woods. Police set up a perimeter and a K-9 eventually found him.
