Metropolitan police are looking for the thieves who stole a detective’s unmarked car Thursday morning.

The department-issued vehicle and the equipment inside were reported stolen about 6 a.m. Thursday from a neighborhood near Prospect Street and Mitthoeffer Road , according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report.

Police were searching for the blue Ford Fusion with tinted windows, IMPD spokesman Sgt. Kendale Adams said.
