Connecticut state police say a man tried to escape from a patrol car a day after he was arrested in a highway chase.
Police tell WVIT-TV 32-year-old Kenneth Lyden of Wolcott was being taken to a hospital Saturday for evaluation of a medical complaint when he tried to flee on Interstate 84 in Waterbury. He was picked up again a short time later.
Lyden was arrested Friday after leading police on a chase from I-84 in Newtown to Route 7 in Milford. Police said he tried to run over a trooper, who then fired at shot at him. Lyden crashed in New Milford and was arrested after a struggle with officers. He was evaluated at a Hospital.
Lyden faces assault and reckless driving charges. It’s not known if he has a lawyer.
