A wanted man tried to steal a patrol car as deputies moved to take him into custody Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said.
Before he could get away, a deputy shocked him with a Taser.
Benjamin Kalin, 26, was wanted on warrants out of Multnomah and Clackamas counties.
Deputies spotted him near 4th and Hunter in Veneta on Tuesday and tried to take him into custody.
Kalin ran – and tried to steal a patrol car, the sheriff’s office said.
A Taser shock helped deputies take him into custody.
He now faces a long list of charges, including 5 counts of assault on a public safety officer; attempted unauthorized use of a vehicle; unlawful entry of a motor vehicle; resisting arrest; menacing; and other charges.
