07/16/13 Connellsville, PA – Police Responded To Silent Alarm – Suspect Arrested Trying To Steal The City Police Cruiser

Connellsville police officers, responding to a silent panic alarm at Vonas Dairy Bar, 302 E. Crawford Ave., had their call end with someone making an attempt to steal one of their cruisers on Sunday.

Officers arrested Marcello Greco, 42, of Uniontown after he attempted to take off in a city police cruiser. Police stopped Greco and got him out of the cruiser.

He was arraigned at the Fayette County Booking Center on charges of theft by unlawful taking and criminal attempt to commit theft.

He was unable to post his bail of $50,000 and is being held in the Fayette County Jail. He is awaiting his preliminary hearing at District Judge Ronald Haggerty’s office, scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m.
