One person is in custody after a chase that involved a Louisville Metro Police vehicle that had been reported stolen.
LMPD said the 10-mile pursuit began just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 9200 block of Donerail Way and ended on UPS property near Grade Lane and Ashbottom Road.
Shannon Keen watched it all unfold from her front lawn.
“All of a sudden, I see the cop running back to his car: ‘Get out of the car! Get out of the car!'” Keen said. “So then … whoever it was just sped off.”
Police said the man, Brandon Hinton, 28, tried to climb the fence near the tarmac but was arrested by officers and transported to University Hospital for minor injuries.
Neighbors said Hinton was pacing next to the police cars before jumping into one and taking off.
Authorities say Hinton was charged with fleeing or evading, wanton endangerment, resisting arrest and theft by unlawful taking over $10,000. He’s due in court Wednesday morning.
