A 22-year old local man faced a judge Wednesday morning on a handful of felony charges, including theft of a police car.

Victor Maya was stopped on suspicion of drunk driving over the weekend, and he had two teenagers in the car with him.

Maya allegedly stole the patrol car while the officer was talking to passengers.

He was charged with DWI, theft and escape.
