A southern Indiana armed robbery suspect was arrested Wednesday night after a chase that ended in Louisville.

Jeffersonville police said they tracked down Cameron Smith, 25, and shortly after, a foot pursuit took place.

Police said the car chase began when Smith managed to take off in the undercover police van of an officer attempting to catch him.

He was finally caught on St. Catherine street in old Louisville.

Several officers were involved in the chase, including officers from Jeffersonville, Clarksville and Louisville police departments.

A warrant had been out for Smith’s arrest since last month, when detectives said he held a man at knife point, getting away with his money and clothes.

Smith was taken to the Clark County Jail where he was booked.
