A manhunt has ended in Henryetta for a man who stole a police car Friday morning.
Okmulgee County Sheriff Eddy Rice told the Okmulgee Times newspaper the incident began when a driver crashed an SUV into the library.
A Henryetta police officer handcuffed the man and put him in the front seat of his police car when another man diverted his attention.
Rice says the man in the police car drove off in the patrol car, with a K-9 officer in the back seat.
Rice says police found the patrol car a few minutes later abandoned on Fig Road on the north edge of town with the dog still inside.
Okmulgee County deputies were joined by Henryetta Police, Okmulgee Police and the District 25 Drug Task Force as they began a manhunt for the missing driver.
SkyNews 6 recorded video of law enforcement officers capturing a man in a field.
