05/06/14 Vicksburg, MS – 54 Year Old Tries To Steal Police Car In The Parking Lot Of Police Department – Arrested

Vicksburg Police arrested a man who they say allegedly tried to break into a patrol car on Tuesday.

Authorities charged 54-year-old Wilson Herron Jr. with one count of auto burglary.

Officials said the incident happened in the parking lot of police department around 1:30 a.m. this morning. Authorities said they spotted Herron as he was in the act of committing the crime.

Police had to pursue the suspect on a short chase after he ran away from officers. All of the items taken from the patrol car were recovered.

A judge set his bond at $25,000 in court Tuesday’s morning. He is currently being held in the Warren County Jail.
