A thief stole a Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office patrol car and crashed it in Ypsilanti Township Tuesday morning, officials confirmed.

Authorities were still at the crash scene on Glenwood between Parkwood and Hawthorne at 9:15 a.m., according to Derrick Jackson, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

The suspect has been placed under arrest, Jackson said.

There were no details immediately available because the incident was still under investigation.
