Three officers were hurt after man, who was reported for acting “crazy” on top of a roof, led police on a wild chase.

Officers showed up near University Avenue and Adler Circle around 4:12 p.m. Sunday after getting a report from a resident that there was a man on the roof possibly under the influence of drugs.

By the time police showed up, the man had come down – but he didn’t go down quietly.

The man, 23-year-old Victor Chaney, allegedly refused to listen to the officer’s demands and started to run. Police say they tried using a Taser and baton, but they apparently didn’t work.

Chaney then allegedly tried to carjack some cars down the street – including a patrol car.

The fight continued, with Chaney then trying to take the officer’s guns.

Finally, a police K-9 and other officers from surrounding agencies showed up and helped the officers take Chaney into custody.

One officer and Chaney had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. In total, three officers suffered minor injuries due to the incident.

Chaney now faces charges of assaulting a police officer, burglary and resisting arrest. He also apparently has a probation violation.
