A suspect is in custody after Rochester police say the person stole a police car on the city’s north side Sunday night.
Police say officers were conducting an investigation away from their vehicle in the area of Parsells Avenue. Shortly before 9 p.m. is when they say Michael Ellison,
29, entered and took off in their unmarked police car.
Officers recovered the vehicle a short time later on Diringer Place and Ellison was taken into custody.
Police say Ellison was charged with Grand Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.
