Officials report one man lead police on a chase Friday morning.

Police were called to a Weis parking lot around 10:00 a.m. in Lycoming County for a report of a man going through vehicles.

When police arrived on scene, Anthony Perez, 51, was seen leaving in a stolen Toyota pick up truck.

The officer followed Perez, pulling him over at a red light on Lycoming Creek Road. Perez sped off refusing to stop; driving onto a dead end road and fleeing the vehicle.

Police chased Perez on foot until Perez jumped into the police cruiser and drove off into the city of Williamsport.

Perez and the police car were found minutes later in the 600 block of Locust Street.

During the investigation it was discovered that the truck was a stolen vehicle out of Wyoming County with several stolen articles inside.

Perez was recently released from state parole for previous vehicle thefts.

He was arraigned and detained in the county prison on $500,000.00 bail.
