Authorities have arrested a woman accused of stealing a police cruiser in Marion County.
According to Sheriff Jimmy Riffle, Bridgette Vessecchia was taken into custody Sunday night. The details surrounding the arrest have not been released.
Initially, deputies detained Vessecchia at around 11:00 a.m. Friday morning in the Vinegar Hill/Riverside Drive area as part of a stolen vehicle investigation. That’s when the suspect was able to gain access to the driver’s compartment and fled. The cruiser was later found, but Vessecchia fled on foot.
Vessecchia is charged with Attempted Escape, Escape, and Felony Fleeing with Reckless Disregard.
