A Milledgeville woman is facing a slew of charges for slipping out of her handcuffs, and into the front seat of a Georgia State Patrol Car.

According to a GSP incident, a trooper, Michael Anthony Screws, was finishing up a routine traffic stop around 11:15pm on Feb. 14th, when a Dodge truck that had a headlight out passed him.

Screws got behind the truck, put on his blue lights, and the car began speeding up. He had recognized that the truck belonged to an ex-convict who might be armed and dangerous.

When the truck eventually stopped, the trooper got out of his car, but didn’t put it into park. The driver, 31-year-old Bobbi Nicole Bryant, ran off and the trooper’s car rolled into the truck, causing damage to it.

Screws eventually took Bryant into custody, and another trooper, J.M. Bloodsworth, arrived on the scene to assess the damage. Bryant was handcuffed and placed in the back of the car.

At some point, while Screws was searching the truck Bryant was driving, she was able to move into the front seat of Screws’ patrol car.

She drove off in the car. Bloodsworth followed her for about 15 miles. The report says she was driving at a speed well over 100 mph.

She was caught after another deputy put out a tire deflating device.

Bryant is facing several criminal charges including drug possession, alluding an officer, and reckless driving. She’s also undergoing mental health evaluations.
