A Louisville man accused of leading police on a chase in a stolen cruiser was arrested Thursday night.

Scott Kennedy, 47, is charged with wanton endangerment, fleeing police and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police said Kennedy stole the cruiser Thursday morning, near Fifth and Kenton streets as police chased him on foot.

According to the arrest warrant, after jumping into the car, Kennedy drove directly at an officer, who had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.

Kennedy then led officers on another chase, according to police.

Police said Kennedy abandoned the car in the 3300 block of Oleanda Avenue.

He was arrested around 8 p.m. Thursday on Central Avenue.

Kennedy is also a convicted felon.

He is set to be arraigned Friday morning.
