For the second time in less than two weeks, a Metro emergency vehicle has been stolen.
Just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, a man stole a Metro police car at an apartment complex on Due West Avenue in Madison.
According to police, the driver abandoned the car a few minutes later at another apartment complex on East Palestine Avenue.
Officers launched a search for the man with police K-9s, but the dogs were not able to find him.
At about 6 a.m., police arrested 20-year-old Tony Moorer in connection to the crime.
Moorer is facing several charges including theft and evading arrest.
On Dec. 28, a Nashville Fire Department SUV was stolen from a fire station on Second Avenue.
