The Wisconsin State Patrol continues to search for a missing area man that escaped custody Sunday. They’ve identified him as 25-year-old Joshua J. Robertson.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a trooper made a stop on Robertson’s vehicle. He was pulled over because of the dark tint on his windows. A trooper searched the vehicle and a K-9 made a hit. Two pounds of crystal meth were found.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says while troopers were bagging evidence, Robertson escaped the back of the squad car. A lieutenant we spoke with believes the windows were left unlocked, and Robertson was able to wind the window down and open the back door. He then jumped into the drivers seat and took off.
Robertson now faces numerous charges. Authorities say he’s from the Altoona/Eau Claire area. He’s described 6′ 4″, 280 pounds, white male. Troopers say Robertson is familiar with the Eau Claire area, and anyone assisting him may face charges.
