A man was arrested after a wreck led to a high-speed chase with authorities in Pulaski County.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), deputies were sent to an area along Eastman Highway for reports of a reckless driver at around 5:30 p.m. Thursday. On the scene, they found a stolen Ford F250 that had crashed into a guardrail near Bremby’s Mill.

That’s when a man got out of the truck, ran across the road and refused to lsiten to deputies’ commands. PCSO said the man “became very violent,” attacking deputies, leading one of the deputies to tase the man. After some time trying to detain him, the man managed to hop into one of the deputy’s cars, pulling away from the scene and dragging two deputies a short distance who were still attempting to pull him from the car.

This began a chase between the man and deputies, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour.

Ultimately, authorities were successful in boxing in the stolen patrol car. The man was then removed and arrested, and is facing multiple charges in both Dodge and Pulaski County.

The two Pulaski County deputies who were attacked and pulled along the road were treated and released from Taylor Regional Hospital.
