Donley County deputies used spikes and a little push to recover a stolen Childress police car early this morning.
Donley Sheriff Butch Blackburn said about 4 a.m., Childress notified his department the police car was taken from an Allsup’s.
The Childress Police Department says the suspect had abandoned his personal vehicle at the scene.
Donley County officials say they were able to set up surveillance in Hedley on US Highway 287.
They set up spikes on the west edge of Clarendon. When the car was disabled, they pushed it off the highway.
Jonathon Ramos of Fort Worth remains in the Donley Jail charged with evading arrest and should be charged later in Childress with the theft.
Childress police say the suspect did not gain access to any weapons.
“The Childress Police Department extends its appreciation to the Donley County Sheriff’s Office for their swift assistance,” according to a statement from Childress Chief Johnson.
