3/24/26 San Antonio, TX – Traffic Stop – Ran Away And Circled Back To Steal San Antonio Marked Police Car – Lytle Police And Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Assisted In Finding The Stolen Patrol Car – One Arrested

 One of two suspects are in custody after a traffic stop led to a police chase on foot, and then a search for a stolen squad car on the Southwest Side.

According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the traffic stop happened near Palo Alto Road and Mohawk Street just before 4 a.m. Not long after the car stopped, police say two suspects jumped out of the car and ran away.

Officers soon lost sight of the suspects, and that started a search of the area.

Not long after, investigators say one of the suspects circled back, jumped into a marked squad car and drove away.

SAPD says the vehicle was soon found with help from the Lytle police Department and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Michael Aguirre, 21, was arrested, but there is no word on the location of the other suspect.
